In March 2022, Yunsun Chung and Irene Pavlos brought a group of young people together in Dubai for something between a retreat and a workshop — an immersive two-day residential expedition into an imaginary land they called Cloud Cuckoo Land.
Through games, drawing, movement, storytelling, and role-play, participants set aside the pressure of daily life and looked honestly at themselves — their own obstacles, and what stood in the way of acting on what they cared about. The frame was simple: notice your shadow, and discover that its shape can change through what you do.
Jungle Jam is one expression of a pattern IN keeps returning to — Light, Shadow, Shift — reshaped for whoever it meets. A year later, a different team in Taiwan built their own version for their own youth: Shadow Shifter. The same pattern has since reappeared again, reshaped as a residential retreat for women.
