Pathfinder 01: (ME WE) Reflection by Participants

“As we continue our journey as Pathfinders, we began by engaging with each other over our recent musings by the "Fireside". We discussed what we would like to offer in this new session, and what was rooted behind our intention for the day. It was a great self-reflective as well as community-affirming exercise that was perfectly in line with the theme of the session [ME WE] on recognizing and acknowledging our interdependence with our community. We are able to contrast this interdependence from the much more individual-centric "independence", from where we needed to transition on the Pathfinder journey by letting go of our ego. On the Mobius strip, this is signified by the FLIP as we shift our paradigm to interconnectedness. Some of us explored our challenges using the Pathfinder compass, which we discussed with the facilitators and addressed the strengths and weaknesses of the various tools that we used, which enable us to see through some perspectives, but it is important for us to see that any tool has its limitations and should not be used to fix us within one viewpoint. As the Pathfinder journey continues, we can see us shift between the different compass paradigms, which is also a significant part of our story. Our session concluded with a meditation on letting go so we could experience the sensation of "oneness" with our community.”

“The session today has really evoked a lot of deep thought. To begin with, was the whole concept, or you can the confusion that I had of connection with the other. But to my surprise, the meditation about dying to self, letting go, fear of failure and the willingness to let some kind of put things in perspective and brought about an understanding of the whole 'me + we' idea and I can now see the importance of connection.”
